WORKSHOP
UNG
We’ve started with WORKSHOP UNG!
WORKSHOP UNG is a program for children and young people aged 6–25, where you can experience the joy of circus through tissu (aerial silks), acrobatics, and body pyramid. Each month we gather for exciting workshops led by professional instructors in circus and dance.
Here, participants develop strength, coordination, balance, and creativity – all in a safe, playful, and inclusive environment where everyone can succeed at their own level.
Tissu – Acrobatics in the air
In tissu, you hang from long silks suspended from the ceiling and learn basic techniques to move acrobatically and elegantly in the air. No prior experience is needed – only curiosity and the desire to try!
Acrobatics and body pyramid
Alongside aerial work, Serhii Vankevych teaches acrobatics and body pyramid. This gives participants the chance to explore both ground- and air-based circus, with exercises that are equally suitable for girls and boys.
When and where
The workshops are held on the last Sunday of each month from August 2025 to November 2027 (not in July and December).
In March 2026 and March 2027, all participants come together for UNG HELG – a meeting place and showcase arena where young dancers, dance schools, instructors, and parents from across the Gjøvik region meet. The weekend concludes with performances showcasing everything the participants have learned in WORKSHOP UNG.
Registration and participation
You can choose between three different registration options, depending on how much you’d like to take part. With the yearly package, you secure a spot in ten workshops throughout the year, while the half-year package gives you five. For those curious to try it out before committing, there is also a drop-in/trial option.
